Still Around

Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted. Apparently we live a noneventful life. That's not quite true though as plenty has gone on this last month. In the bad news department, we have said goodbye to both of Trey's paternal grandparents. Two funerals in one month is never fun, but it's especially hard when they're for people who are so close to you. I did not know them very well but they've left a great legacy in their families. We know that they are in a better place, but we pray for continued comfort for all of the family & friends. In the better news, we got to go to Starkville, MS and spend a weekend with my family earlier this month. It was my little sister's birthday (she turned 22--how is that even possible?!) so my parents came down from Chicago and we came up from New Orleans. It was great to see everyone again. Words can't even describe how hard it is to live so far from everyone and see them so infrequently. After a certain amount of time, it makes them like "family strangers", you know, people you're related to but getting together is still slightly awkward. It was wonderful though & I can't wait to see them again--hopefully soon! Other than that stuff, not too much going on. Trey's having a busy summer and is currently taking a class which he'll finish next week. I'm simply working, working, working. Things may seem sort of mundane, but I really am thankful for that. I'm thankful that I have a job to go to every day, a house that needs cleaning, a husband & sweet little kitty to look after. That's what you call BLESSED. Plus, we're going on a moonlight canoe trip tonight & we finally found a new color for our living room walls. Of course, there are some stressful things too. We have a number of decisions to make that will require wisdom, guidance, & God's providence. Please pray for these decisions as Trey & I continue to seek direction for our future.

Ok, that's the update. No pics or anything but just wanted to let ya'll know we're still around. Will post tomorrow/soon about tonight's canoe trip--I can't wait!!!
